SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay track and field team enjoyed a strong first day at the Hornet Invitational Friday afternoon at Hornet Stadium.
Four school records fell on the first-day of the two-day annual invite. Freshman
Rachel Hoops blitzed past the 800m record surpassing the old mark by three seconds, clocking a 2:13.95 to place 12
th overall.
Junior
Ali Keith placed second in her 5,000m heat to post a school-record time of 17:46.10.
On the men's side, two Otters dipped under two-minutes in the 800m as freshman
Erik Bromley clocked a 1:57.68 and sophomore
Cameron Cornforth followed at 1:59.84.
In the men's 5,000m senior
Jaime Gonzalez ran a big personal best of 14:47.06.
The Otters will return to Hornet Stadium tomorrow for the final day of competition.
