SEASIDE, Calif. – A six-run first inning left no doubt as the Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team took down Sonoma State, 13-7, Sunday afternoon to earn the series sweep at the Otter Sports Complex. CSUMB improves to 10-5 overall and 5-3 in CCAA play.
The Otters banged out 14 hits as four posted multi-hit games and five boasted multi-RBIs.
KW Quilici went 3-for-3, while
Dominic Felice batted 2-for-4 with a triple and a home run.
Max Farfan went 2-for-3 and drove in two, while
Cole Murchison and
Javier Felix drove in a pair.

Mitchell Torres had his best outing of the young season, earning his first win of 2025. The left-hander allowed just one hit in five innings to tame the Seawolves.
A massive opening inning set the tone as the offense erupted for six runs, capitalizing on key at-bats and clutch hitting.
The breakthrough in the first inning came from when the hot-hitting
Javier Felix delivered a two-run double to right-center, plating
Jimmy Garcia and Quilici. Moments later, Murchison kept the momentum going with another two-run double, bringing home
Jaden Sheppard and Felix to extend the lead to 4-0.
Felice then launched an RBI triple to left-center, scoring Murchison to push the lead to 5-0. Farfan then added a sac-fly, driving in Felice to cap off the explosive frame at 6-0.
The Otters tallied a five-spot in the seventh inning to seal the contest. The biggest blow came off the bat of
Nick Maestas, who crushed a two-run double to right-center, bringing in
Anthony McFarland and Farfan to push the lead to 11-4.
Jaden Sheppard followed with another clutch hit, singling through the left side to score Garcia, extending the advantage to 12-4.
The Otters will hit the road for a four-game conference series at Cal State East Bay. The two teams will first meet on Friday, March 7, with first pitch slated for 2 p.m., at the Pioneer Baseball Field.
