Day Scores 100th Career Goal Against No. 14 UCD

Aggies pull away in the second half to earn 20-8 win

SEASIDE, Calif. — Cal State Monterey Bay stayed close early, but No. 14 UC Davis pulled away in the second half to earn a 20–8 victory Sunday afternoon in the Otter Tank.

Stella Martin (Clovis West HS) scored on the first CSUMB possession to put the Otters quickly on top. Davis countered by scoring the next three en route to taking a 5–2 lead.

But CSUMB wasn't about to go away that easily. Abby Delport (Reedley HS/Fresno CC) scored with 32 second remaining in the first quarter and Annika Harper (San Diego/Clairemont HS beat the horn to trim the Davis lead to 5–4 after one period.

It became a 1-goal game again when Martin scored her second of the day to make it 7–6 minway through the second quarter. But the Aggies took control from there, closing the first half and opening the second on a 7–0 run that gave them an insurmountable 14–6 lead.

Freshman Emma Sosa (Tustin/Foothill HS) joined Martin in the 2-goal club Sunday, but the offensive highlight belonged to junior Autumn Day (Murrieta Valley HS), who scored her 100th career goal as part of a 2-goal, 2-assist afternoon.

Junior center Kaya Eaton (San Diego/Helix Charter HS) chipped in a pair of assists and drew three Aggie exclusions. Marissa White (Union City/Mission San Jose HS) and Kendra Weaver (Valley Center HS) split time in goal, making six and four saves respectively.

The Otter will take next weekend off from competition before returning to the pool to host UC Merced for the final home game of the 2025 season on Mar. 28. First sprint is scheduled for 1 p.m.
