SEASIDE, Calif. — Cal State Monterey Bay started slowly and finished fast, but visiting Stanislaus State held on for a 25–16, 19–25, 25–19, 25–20 win Friday night in The Kelp Bed.

Senior Jackie Wahl (Palm Desert HS) put down a season-high 15 kills while fellow outside Brenna Duggan (Clayton Valley Charter) reached double figures for the first time as an Otter with 10. Senior opposite Kennedy Adams (Temecula HS) chipped in eight kills, her best match on the attack since her freshman season.

Stanislaus caught CSUMB napping early, racing to an 11–2 lead while winning the first set comfortably. But the Otters responded in kind in the second, jumping to an 8–1 lead and never trailing to even the match.

The quality of play continued to rise as the match progressed into a sideout war down the stretch, with Stanislaus landing the key blows it needed to pull out sets three and four for the win.

In addition to CSUMB's attackers, junior libero Mia Dilley (Clovis East/Fresno CC) served four aces and collected 13 digs. Freshman setter Ruby Ennis (Lakeside/El Capitan HS) passed a collegiate-high 35 assists and added 14 digs.

THE MATCH WAS OVER WHEN… three different Warriors recorded kills to break a 19–19 tie in the fourth set. CSUMB never got closer than three points again.

THEY'RE ACES… The Otters served a season-high nine aces Friday against Stanislaus State. They also made just six service errors, their third-lowest total of the season.

NOLTE ON THE BLOCKS… Senior middle blocker Mikayla Nolte claimed three block assists Friday versus Stanislaus State to move up to No. 11 on the Otter career blocks list with 172. She needs two more tie Amber Tygart (2014–17) for the No. 10 spot.

DOUBLE THE FUN FOR ENNIS… Freshman setter Ruby Ennis recorded her first collegiate double-double Friday against Stanislaus State, finishing with season-highs of 35 assists and 14 digs.

LEADERS OF THE RAFT… POINTS: Jackie Wahl 16.0; KILLS: Jackie Wahl 15; BLOCKS: Mikayla Nolte 3; ACES: Mia Dilley 4; DIGS: Ruby Ennis 14.

THEY'VE GOT NEXT… The Otters conclude their brief 2-match homestand by hosting Chico State Saturday. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
