GOODYEAR, Ariz. – In the final tuneup before the CCAA Championship, the Cal State Monterey Bay women's golf team placed ninth at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic with a 26-over 602. The Otters capped off the tournament with a final round 14-over 302.
"Not the day we were hoping for," head coach
Jim Ragan said. "We just weren't able to make as many birdies today to offset the mistakes. Certainly disappointed, but we are really looking forward to our conference championship in a couple weeks."
Cathy Tong climbed up the leaderboard to finish as the top Otter with a 1-over 73, to place 16
th overall. Tong recorded three birdies in the round, shooting even-par on the front-nine.
Zoe Offield used an even-par front-nine to finish in 38
th with a final round of 3-over 75.
Tilda Kvarnrud also finished the tournament in 38
th as she carded a second round score of 4-over 76.
Madi Blanc also had success on the front-nine with an even-par score at the turn but finished the day in 43
rd with a 6-over-78.
Mia Golovich was 90
th overall with a 7-over 79.
The Otters will now set their sights on the CCAA Championship. The three-day event is scheduled to tee off on Monday, April 24, at the Santa Rosa Country Club.
