CHICO – The Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team opened its road series against Chico State with a 3-2 victory on Friday evening at Nettleton Stadium. After the opener, the Otters move to 26-15 overall and 22-11 in conference play.
The big bats of
Jaden Sheppard and
Chase Lindemann proved to be the difference as they went deep in the sixth and seventh inning, respectively, to propel the Otters to victory.
Lindemann and Sheppard both collected two hits to lead CSUMB.
JJ Engman recorded the other RBI.
Nate Rohlicek (4-2) earned the win, allowing two runs on six hits, while striking out eight in seven innings.
Aidan Lee earned his third save on the season, fanning two in a scoreless ninth.
The two teams will meet for a doubleheader tomorrow. First pitch of game one is scheduled for Noon.
