SEASIDE, Calif. – The No. 14-ranked Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team dropped its series finale contest to No. 21 Point Loma, 11-0, Saturday afternoon at the Otter Sports Complex.
The Otters recorded five hits in the matinee, but the Sea Lions banged out 14 hits en route to their 11 runs. The shutout marked the first time CSUMB went scoreless since Feb. 3, of last season at No. 14 Azusa Pacific.
The two teams were locked in a pitcher's duel until the Sea Lions put up four runs in the fifth inning. Point Loma scored a pair of runs in each of the next three innings to secure the victory.
Daniel Flores (0-1) was tagged with the loss after allowing one run on four hits, while striking out two in three innings.

Jaden Sheppard led the Otters with a double apiece.
CSUMB (4-4) will start conference play on the road at Sonoma State. The Series will begin on Friday, Feb. 23.
