SEASIDE, Calif. – Led by four players in double-figures and a strong fourth quarter the Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team secured a 65-42 victory over Simpson University on Wednesday at the Kelp Bed. The win marks the second in a row for the Otters as they conclude the non-conference schedule 3-6 overall.
CSUMB closed out the game with a 19-4 advantage in the fourth quarter. The Otters shot 82-percent (9-for-11) from the floor in the frame and held the Red Hawks to just 1-of-10 shooting. The Otters finished at 45-percent (27-of-60) for the game.

Ella Doherty once again led all scorers with 20 points on 9-of-16 shooting and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
Cheyanne Whitfield and
Jayden McNeal add 10 points apiece while
A'ajah Slocum poured in 11 and grabbed seven boards.

Ella Doherty has put together quite the pair of games and it is no coincidence the Otters have won two straight. Over the two wins, Doherty has scored 57 points and grabbed 22 rebounds. Her 37-point outburst against Lincoln University earned her CCAA Player of the Week for the second time this season.
