Kvarnrud, Golovich Lead Otters In The Desert

Otter duo ties for 34th at NCAA Championship Preview

BOULDER CITY, Nev. — Senior Tilda Kvarnrud (Mariestad, Sweden) and sophomore Mia Golovich (Murrieta Mesa HS) each finished 4-over 220 to tie for 34th place at the NCAA Championship Preview Tournament Tuesday at Bould Creek Golf course.

Kvarnrud carded three birdies Tuesday as part of her team-best 2-under round. Golovich added a pair of birdies and finished the day 3-over.

Freshman Morgan Pittman (Chico/Pleasant Valley HS) shot 78 and senior Keahna Castillo (Merced HS/Reedley College) shot 84 to close the Otter scoreline.

CCAA rival Cal State San Marcos won the team title by one stroke over Dallas Baptist. Arnie Taguines of the Univ. of Texas at Tyler held off San Marcos's Megan Murr to win medalist honors by two strokes at 16-under.

CSUMB will take next week off before returning to fall action Oct. 21 at the HPU Sharks Shootout in Waikoloa, Hawaii.
