SEASIDE, CALIF. – The Otters continued to keep the hometown faithful happy, downing Sonoma State 8-6 and 10-9 in Saturday's doubleheader at the Otter Sports Complex.
The Otters took early leads in both of these contests, with the Seawolves responding to make things interesting late. Game one saw Sonoma State tie things up in the top of eighth, before the Otters regained the lead in the bottom of the eighth en route to the victory. Game two saw the Otters fall behind 5-1 in the third before scoring nine unanswered runs, eventually winning 10-9.
Chase Lindemann (Santa Clarita/Hartnell College) played hero in game one, blasting a two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth to break the 6-6 stalemate, with Chris Tonna (Fremont/Chabot College) coming on to slam the door shut in the ninth.
Game two saw the Otters hang up eight runs in the bottom of the fourth, as Kyle Guerra (San Leandro HS), JJ Engman (Renton, Wash./Shoreline College), Nico Hartojo (Arvada, Colo./MPC) and Chase Lindemann each logged a pair of RBI in the inning. Sonoma rallied back within one run, but again, Chris Tonna was called upon in the final frame and picked up his second save in as many outings.
GAME ONE WAS OVER WHEN… Chris Tonna worked a 1-2-3 inning to close out the Seawolves in the ninth.

A SPARK AT THE TOP… Leadoff hitter Chase Lindemann could do no wrong for the Otters today. Today's stellar games brought Lindemann's average up to team-high .394 for the season.
