Otters Drop Soggy Saturday Bout with Azusa Pacific

Fortune, Judy each score twice, as Otters fall 17-6


SEASIDE, CALIF. – Cal State Monterey Bay Water Polo capped off their brief two game home stand against Azusa Pacific, falling 17-6 Saturday afternoon. 

The Otters got multi-goal efforts from Cecile Judy (Alameda HS) and Shelby Fortune (San Diego/Patrick Henry HS) as the duo combined for 15 of CSUMB's 28 shots. Zoe Reid (Pleasanton/Foothill HS) chipped in a pair of assists for the second consecutive game. 

Defending WWPA Player of the Week Megan Taylor (San Juan Capistrano/Capo Valley HS) earned the start in goal, and made seven saves before giving way to Grace Mensing (Cameron Park/Ponderosa HS) in the fourth quarter. Mensing made four saves in her eight minutes of action. 

The Otters will hit the road to Davis next week to take part in the Aggie Invitational. CSUMB will take on Pacific and Cal State East Bay on Saturday, Feb. 11 and La Verne and San Jose State on Sunday, Feb. 12.
