Parker’s Double–Double Not Enough In Loss At Dominguez Hills

Sophomore Camille Parker scores 10 points, grabs 12 rebounds in 70–48 setback

CARSON, Calif. — Sophomore Camille Parker (Alta Loma HS) recorded her second collegiate double–double, but it wasn't event to prevent host Cal State Dominguez Hills from earning a 70–48 win Thursday night in The Torodome.

Parker scored 10 points and matched her career high with 12 rebounds for her second double–double and the fourth by an Otter this season. But the Otters struggled from the field, shooting their second lowest percentage of the season at 19–for–81 (.235). That, ultimately, was too much to overcome.

In addition to Parker, senior Jordana Price (Seattle/Inglemoor HS) reached double figures for the 12th time this season with 10 points. Junior Yolanda Ealy (Long Beach Poly/L.A. Valley College) just missed a double–double of her own with eight points and eight rebounds.

THE GAME WAS STATISTICALLY OVER WHEN… Alisha Henderson made a short jumper with 3:08 remaining to give Dominguez Hills a 64–46 lead.

TAKING THEIR SHOT… The Otters attempted 81 shots Thursday at Dominguez Hills. It marks the second–most shots they've ever attempted the most they've taken at the NCAA level. In case you're wondering, the CSUMB record for field goal attempts in a game is 92 set in a 103–22 win over Pacific Union College on Dec. 14, 2002.

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK… The Otters turned the ball over just 11 times Thursday at Dominguez Hills, marking the second fewest they've made in a game this season. Their season low is 10 turnovers at San Bernardino on Jan. 10.

PRICE JOINS THE 400 CLUB… Jordana Price scored 10 points Thursday night at Dominguez Hills to become the 26th player in CSUMB history to score 400 career points. With 409 points, she passed Brandi Stephens (407) for No. 25 on the all–time scoring list. Brianna Tucker scored eight points Thursday night and holds the No. 24 spot with 419 points.

LEADERS OF THE RAFT… POINTS: Camille Parker/Jordana Price 10; REBOUNDS: Camille Parker 12; ASSISTS: Chyna Dews 3; BLOCKS: Jenna Viss 1; STEALS: Chyna Dews/Jordana Price 3.

THEY'VE GOT NEXT… The Otters conclude their brief trip to the Greater Los Angles area with a Saturday afternoon game at Cal State L.A. as part of a CCAA doubleheader. The women will tip-off at 1 p.m. and the men will tip-off at 3 p.m.
