SEASIDE, Calif. — For the second time in three meetings, Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball rallied late to defeat Cal State Monterey Bay, this time taking a 59–54 decision Saturday afternoon in The Kelp Bed.
The teams played through nine ties and eight lead changes before the Broncos finally grabbed the lead for good at 55–54 via a Jayda Villareal 3–pointer with three minutes to play in regulation.
The Otters had four chances to tie or take the lead down the stretch. Pomona finally iced the game with a pair of Kasey Scmit free throws in the closing seconds.
Freshman
Katie Fitzgerald (Mater Dei HS) led all scorers with 21 points for CSUMB. Junior
Camille Parker (Alta Loma HS) chipped in her first double–double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Katie Fitzgerald continued the torrid start to her collegiate career, scoring a team season–high 21 points against Cal Poly Pomona. Fitzgerald scored 16 points in each of her first two games and leads the team averaging 19.0 ppg.
BACK ON THE DOUBLE–DOUBLE TRAIN… After leading the Otters with five double–doubles as a sophomore in 2018–19,
Camille Parker is back on the double–double train in her junior season. She recorded CSUMB's first double–double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds Saturday versus Cal Poly Pomona.
