RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Junior forward/midfielder Luis Lopez (Martinez/De Anza HS) earned his first All–CCAA recognition to lead four Otters on the All–CCAA men's soccer teams, the conference announced Thursday morning.

Joining Lopez, a second team selection, were honorable mention picks forward Walmer Martinez (Soquel HS/Cabrillo College), defender Jacob Penner (Half Moon Bay HS) and midfielder Adrian Rebollar (Watsonville HS). Rebollar was honored for the second consecutive season. It was the first award for each of the others.

The four players selected matches the 2011 squad for the most in Otter history. Six Otters have earned the award in Shane Carew's two seasons at the helm, making it the best 2–year performance in Otter history.

"I'm very proud for these players to be recognized by the coaches in the conference," says Carew. "It shows the progress our program is making."

Lopez led the Otters and tied for 10th in the CCAA with six goals in 2018. Martinez, meanwhile, set the CSUMB record with nine assists while leading the team with 17 points. He finished second in the CCAA in assists in the regular season and seventh in points.

Rebollar finished the 2018 campaign with three goals and two assists (eight points) while quarterbacking an offense that scored the sixth most goals in school history. Penner led a central defense that limited opponents to 1.62 goals per game, the fourth best in CSUMB history.

CSUMB finished the 2018 season 7–9 overall and 5–7 in the CCAA. Their seventh place finish was the second best in school history and the best since the 2007 squad finished second in the CCAA North Division (4th overall).
