SEASIDE, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team brought its offense in game two against Azusa Pacific as the otters plated eight runs through the first three innings. Trailing 8-2, the Cougars did not go quietly. APU struck again in the fifth inning, this time for six runs that tied the game at 8-8. The Cougars staked an 11-8 lead before CSUMB woke up and plated four runs to take a 12-11 lead.
More drama took place in the ninth inning as APU tied the game once again at 12-12.
Nick Vigo (Simi Valley, Calif.) became the hero as his sacrifice fly sent home
Jordan Esposo (Marina, Calif.) for the 13-12 win.
GOING DEEP… The Cougars and Otters combined for six home runs, five of which came off of APU bats.
