SEASIDE, Calif. — McKenna Hill (Saint Bonaventure HS) and
Victoria Dorn (Seaside HS) hit person milestones on Friday night in the Kelp Bed in Cal State Monterey Bay's 71-66 win over San Francisco State.
In the third quarter, Dorn hit her single-season record breaking 74th three-pointer, in her 100th game of her Otter career. Hill hit her milestone shortly after on a fast break layup, recording her 1000th career point in her 100th game at Monterey Bay.
The Otters and Gators played to a tight game at intermission as SFSU held a 32-28 lead at the break. The Otters came out hot in the third quarter, closing the gap to one point heading into the final quarter. Hill's team-leading 23 points help CSUMB get over the hump and outscored SFSU 20-14 to capture the victory.
THE GAME WAS OVER WHEN: Aubri Smith hit her second of two free throws to give CSUMB a 7-point lead with 13 seconds remaining.
MCKENNA 1000: As mentioned above, Hill cashed in her 1000th point over her Otter career. She becomes the second player CSUMB women's basketball history to hit the 1000 point milestone. She now has 1,006 career points after tonight's game.
TORI DORN FROM DOWNTOWN: With her second three-pointer of the night, Dorn surpassed Dana Andrews (73) for the most threes in a season (75). Dorn accomplished the feat in three less games than Andrews.
MORE MILESTONES: The milestone continue for Hill and Dorn as the seniors played in their 100th game on Friday night.
