CHICO, Calif. -- The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team headed to Chico State for the second part of a back–to–back on Saturday night and were unable to find the win despite
MCKenna Hill's (Ventura, Calif. / Saint Bonaventure HS) season–high 21 points.
By the end of the first quarter, the Otters found themselves in a 10 points hole to the host Wildcats at 18–8. The second quarter didn't fair much better for CSUMB as they scored six points and trailed at the half 14–31.
The Otters still could not find their rhythm after intermission, netting seven points in the third quarter. The mojo found its way back in the fourth quarter but the 17 points in the final 10 minutes were too little too late. The Wildcats built a commanding lead by then, handing CSUMB a 36-60 loss.
Other than Hills game leading 21 points, no other Otter scored more than three points in the loss. Hill also led CSUMB in rebounds with seven.
Monterey Bay will continue to stay on the road next weekend when they make the tough Cal Poly Pomona–Humboldt State road trip on Feb. 111 and Feb. 13, respectively
