CHICO, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team began their final road trip of 2016 as they visited Chico State on Thursday night. The Otters got off to a slow start scoring just eight points in the first quarter and 17 in the first half.
The Otters gathered themselves at the start of the second half by scoring 12 points in the third quarter, however, each time the Otters made a run, the Wildcats countered with a run of their own. Chico outscored Monterey Bay in every quarter leading to a 76-38 drubbing of CSUMB.
THE GAME WAS STATISTICALLY OVER WHEN… With the Wildcats leading 53-29 at the start of the fourth quarter, the game was in Chicos favor for the final 10 minutes. Chico outscored CSUMB 23-9 in the fourth quarter.
REBOUND WATCH: With four rebounds tonight,
McKenna Hill (Ventura, Calif.) now has 498 career rebounds. With two more Hill will become the third Otter player with 500 rebounds joining
SHUT DOWN: The Chico defense shut down the Otters leading scorer,
Victoria Dorn (Seaside, Calif.) who had just three points after the first 20 minutes. However, Dorn scored 12 second half points, ending the night with five made threes (5-12).
