ARCATA, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team flipped the script from Thursday's game by putting a 19-point drubbing on the Lumberjacks of Humboldt State on New Years Eve in Arcata. CSUMB led from the outset, growing its lead to as big as 20 late in the fourth quarter.
McKenna Hill (Ventura, Calif.) led CSUMB in scoring with 18 points and was two rebounds short of a double-double. Also sniffing at a double-double was
Courtney Keaton (Los Angeles, Calif.) who ended the night with 15 points and nine rebounds.
The Otters notch their first conference win of the season and are now 4-9 overall.
THE GAME WAS STATISTICALLY OVER WHEN… When Keaton hit a free throw with 2:54 left in the fourth quarter to put CSUMB up by 18, 58-40, the Otters never looked back.
500 CLUB: With eight rebounds in tonight's game, Hill becomes the third CSUMB women's basketball player to surpass the 500 rebound mark. She joins Holly Holcomb and Krista Herr.
CAREER TIE: With her 15 points tonight, Keaton matched her career-high which she set against Fresno Pacific on November 18, 2016
