OTTERS vs. ARGONAUT HIGHLIGHTS
SEASIDE, Calif. — Cal State Monterey Bay took full advantage of its first home game of the season Wednesday night, matching the biggest margin of victory in the NCAA Division II era with an 87–56 win over Notre Dame de Namur in The Kelp Bed.
Ten of the 11 Otters dressed for Wednesday's game scored, led by San Jose City College transfer
Christine Golfo led three Otters in double figures with a team season–high 17 points. Senior
Victoria Dorn (Seaside HS) chipped in 15 points while junior forward
Courtney Keaton (Bishop Montgomery HS) pulled down a career–high 10 rebounds.
Jerusha Paine led NDNU with game highs of 19 points and 11 rebounds..
THE GAME WAS STATISTICALLY OVER WHEN… Alexa Sperling made a short jumper to extend the Otter lead to 65–35 with five seconds remaining in the third quarter.
LARGE MARGINS… The 31–point final margin of victory was the largest in CSUMB history against an NCAA Division II opponent. It also matched the largest margin against any opponent set twice previously, last in an 86–55 win over Simpson University on Dec. 20, 2011.
OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION: The 87 points scored by the Otters Wednesday night were their most since they pasted 98 on Dixie State in a 98–70 win on Nov. 9, 2013. That was the first game of the
Kerri Nakamoto era. Prior to Nakamoto's arrival, the Otters hadn't scored as many as 87 points in regulation since a 95–86 win over Cal State Stanislaus on Feb. 3, 2006. That's a span of 207 games.
