SEASIDE, Calif. -- Victoria Dorn (Marina, Calif. / Seaside HS) led the Otters with 12 points but it would not be nearly enough as the Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team fell to a Cal State East Bay team that currently sits third in the CCAA, 57-40.
CSUMB was out scored in all but one qaurter on Tuesday evening, winning the fourth 12–9. Dorn was the only player in double figures for the Otters as they shot just over 26 percent from the field. A bright spot in the stats was the Otters free throw percentage. Monterey Bay hit 6–of–7 from the charity stripe for a solid 85.7% from the line.
In addition to Dorn's 12 points,
McKenna Hill (Ventura, Calif. / Saint Bonaventure HS) collected 9 rebounds. Cal State East Bay's Remy Puou led all scorers with 14 points. Along with Puou, two other Pioneers found double digit scoring efforts. Tori Breshers led the rebounding column with 11.
CSUMB falls to 7–12, 3–9 CCAA. Monterey Bay will compete in a rare afternoon contest on Saturday when they welcome Cal State San Marcos to the Kelp Bed. Tipoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
