Otters Can’t Find Rhythm in Road Loss to Sonoma

Dorn goes for 16, Garza with 11 boards

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- It was an off night for the Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team as they failed to crack 50 points in a 47-60 loss to Sonoma State on Friday night in the Wolves' Den.

The Seawolves opened up on a 16-2 run before Victoria Dorn (Marina, Calif. / Seaside HS) scored the next five points to finish the quarter. Dorn then scored the first four points of the second quarter to put the Otters within single digits at 11-20. From the 7:46 mark on, CSUMB scored six points to trail 30-17 at the half.

While the Otters shot better in the second half (45.8%), Sonoma State played right along with them as each team scored 30 points in the final two quarters.

Dorn led all scorers with 16 points on the night, while Addie Garza (Hughson HS) contributed 11 in addition to eight rebounds, tying a career–high.

CSUMB falls to 7-10, 3-7 CCAA. Monterey Bay will look to bounce back Saturday as they head south to battle San Francisco State. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. in The Swamp.
