After this weekend's games, the Otters hit the road to begin the second round of CCAA play at Cal Poly Pomona and UC San Diego Jan. 30-31. They return home to host San Francisco State and Sonoma State the first weekend of February.
WARRIOR 3–DOT NOTES (13–1, 9–0 CCAA): After losing four in a row and seven of eight, the Warriors righted the ship with a home sweep of Sonoma and San Francisco State last weekend…the Warriors win on the defensive side, allowing 66.4 ppg in their five victories and 82.9 ppg in their nine losses…Jr./G Jasmine Washington is the team's top scorer at 11.9 ppg…So./F Rile Holliday leads Stanislaus on the boards at 5.2 rpg.
WHEN LAST WE MET: The Otters began a season–ending 3–game winning streak with a 70–60 victory over Stanislaus on Feb. 22, 2014. Playing in her final home collegiate game,
Ashley Morgan led the Otters with 16 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Jasmine Washington led the Warriors with 14.
WHEN LAST WE PLAYED:  Humboldt State proved its mettle as the CCAA leading nearing the turn with a 76–55 win last Saturday in Arcata. The Otters stayed close early and were within six points midway through the first half before the Lumberjacks put the hammer down.
Jenna Bandy and
Kaila Turner led CSUMB with 10 points apiece.
THIS DATE IN OTTER HISTORY: The Otters made a (then) school–record 12 3–pointers, but it wasn't enough to stop San Francisco State from taking a 78–72 decision in The Swamp on Jan. 23, 2008. Dana Andrews led the way by going a perfect 4–for–4 from beyond the arc.
THE BANDY 500: With her first point Friday night vs. Stanislaus,
Jenna Bandy will reach 500 career points. She will become only the 10th Otter to accumulate
500 career points.BECKMAN MAKES THE LIST: Senior guard
Nikki Beckman scored eight points Saturday at Humboldt State to climb into the Top 20 on CSUMB's career scoring list with 339 points.
JOIN THE CLUB: With 12 points and 10 rebounds off the bench last week at San Bernardino, freshman forward
Alexa Sperling notched her first collegiate double–double, becoming the third Otter to join the double–double club this season (
Jenna Bandy and
Jazmine Johnson are the others). The trio has combined for as many double–doubles (4) as the team posted all last season.
IN CASE YOU'RE CURIOUS, CLUB EDITION: The CSUMB record for most individuals recording double–doubles in a season is four set twice previously, last in 2014 (
Mykayla Harris,
Holly Holcomb,
Ashley Morgan,
Alexous Robinson).
THAT GIRL GIVES A HAND: With 11 assists in her last two games,
Nikki Beckman has moved into the No. 7 spot on the CSUMB career assist list with 144. She needs eight more to pass Britnea Moore (151) for sixth and 10 to pass Dana Andrews (153) for fifth. Jessica Fontenette owns the Otter record with 216.
JAZMINE FROM THE BLOCK: With her 16th block of the season last week at San Bernardino,
Jazmine Johnson moved into the Otter Top 10 for blocks in a season. Next up is Denisha Profit, who owns the No. 9 (21 in 2006) and No. 8 (22 in 2007) spots. Julie Heurung set the CSUMB record with 39 in 2011.
DOUBLE DOUBLE–DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE: With their double double–doubles versus Cal State L.A. on Jan. 9,
Jenna Bandy and
Jazmine Johnson became the first Otters to post double–doubles in the same game since Julie Heurung and Michelle Santizo both turned the trick in a 72–60 win at Cal State San Bernardino on Feb. 26, 2010.
OTTERS AMONG THE CCAA LEADERS: The following Otters enter tonight's action ranked among the CCAA leaders: SCORING: No. 11
Jenna Bandy (13.1 ppg); FG%: No. 5
Jazmine Johnson (.547); FT%: No. 1
Jenna Bandy (.909); 3PT%: No. 5

70 IS THE ANSWER TO EVERYTHING: With apologies to Douglas Adams, the answer to everything isn't 42, it's 70. With the 84–80 win at San Francisco State on Jan. 3, CSUMB is now 35–2 when scoring 70 or more points since the 2008–09 season. Prior to the 2013 regular season finale (an 84–75 overtime loss to Chico State), the Otters hadn't scored 70 in defeat since a 85–79 loss to Cal State Stanislaus on Dec. 6, 2008.
GO OTTERS!
