Audra Kepler advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals in each of her four seasons as an Otter.
SEASIDE, Calif. — Cal State Monterey Bay senior
Audra Kepler (Pleasant Hill/College Park HS) put a final feather in her collegiate golf cap by earning All–America honors from the Women's Golf Coaches Association. She joins Courtney Soekland (2012), Darcy Lake (2011) and Cicilia Chudivan (2010) on the list of Otter women's golf All–Americans.
Kepler enjoyed an outstanding senior season, posting a pair of tournament victories (at the Western New Mexico Intercollegiate in September and at the Otter Invitational in March) in addition to five other top six finishes. She finished 10th at the NCAA Super Regional, one spot away from qualifying for a berth at the NCAA Championship Tournament.
"Audra did not win All–America status, she earned it," says CSUMB Head Coach Alexis Edwards. "With every practice session, every ball hit, every tournament played, she worked her way to All-America honors.
"I'm proud to have coached her these past couple of seasons, watching her game improve and grow. She has been working toward this goal since the moment she stepped foot on to the CSUMB campus. Audra exemplifies what Otter Golf and Otter Athletics is all about. She sets a goal, makes a plan, and focuses to make it happen."
Kepler finished the 2013–14 season ranked No. 22 nationally among NCAA Division II players in scoring average (+4.24) and No. 29 in raw scoring average at 76.43 (min. 20 rounds). Her second round 70 that vaulted her to the individual title at the Wester New Mexico Fall Intercollegiate tied for the 28th best round in Division II play this season.
"I'd have to say I feel very honored to win this award," says Kepler. "This was one of my goals and I'm thrilled I accomplished it. In my college career I have improved each year. Being a senior I wanted to make this season memorable. I've worked very hard the last four to be where I am today and I'm still getting better."
