BOX SCORE BELMONT, Calif. – Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team's late rally fell short at Notre Dame de Namur in the season opener as the Otters dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to the Argos Thursday afternoon.
"It wasn't our team's best performance but we will learn from this loss and keep moving forward," said Head Coach
Erin Reinke. "There are lots of games to be played and next up for us is Fresno Pacific on Saturday."

Jami Murray (Newbury, Calif./City College of San Francisco) scored the lone goal for CSUMB in the 87th minute to send the game to overtime, but the Argos clinched the game winner in the opening 17 seconds of overtime on Adriana Cortes second goal of the game.
The game was scoreless until the 78th minute of play when Cortes found the back of the net on a free kick from 25 yards out for NDNU.
The Otters dominated the first half of play, outshooting the Argos 6-1. Overall, CSUMB and NDNU racked up 14 shots apiece. Murray led the Otters with 3 shots.
Junior
Kendra Gillio (San Jose, Calif./Valley Christian HS) finished with six saves and stopped a NDNU penalty kick in the 72nd minute.
CSUMB returns to action Saturday, Sept. 7 with its home opener against Fresno Pacific at 3 p.m. at the Otter Sports Complex.
