Sophomore Kristen Womack knocks in her third game-winning goal vs. CSUEB.
BOX SCORE SEASIDE, Calif. – Sunday's Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team's meeting against Cal State East Bay turned into a repeat performance from Sept. 27 in Hayward. Thanks to a second half goal, the Otters earned their second 1-0 victory over the Pioneers.
"We are battling to make the playoffs this season," said CSUMB Head Coach
Erin Reinke. "We played well as a team and got the result we needed to have a chance for the playoffs today. As long as we keep focusing on what we need to do as a team hopefully the results will be in our favor.
Sophomore
Kristen Womack (Roseville/Woodcreek HS) scored the game-winner in the 59th minute when the Pioneer defense deflected her cross back to her, sending it to the far right post.
The Otters almost got on the board in the first half when junior

For the ninth time this season, CSUMB outshot it opponent by edging out the Pioneers 9-6. The Otters tied their opponents in shots on two occasions.
"Next weekend will be tough," Reinke said. "We are traveling to Southern Cal to play two solid teams in the CCAA South Division."
