SCOUTING CAL STATE EAST BAY:  The Pioneers earned their first conference victory on Sunday, a 2-1 win at Cal State Dominguez Hills.  Key Players: Shianna Falk (3G, 2A, 13SOG) and Eugenie Foote (3G, 1A, 6SOG)

SERIES RECORD:  The Pioneers hold a slight 3-2 advantage in the series, sweeping the Otters in 2011.  CSUMB won back-to-back years in 2009 & 2010.

UP NEXT:  Sunday's game against Cal State East Bay begins a four-game homestand for the Otters.  CSUMB begins October with rematches against Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus.

HUMBOLDT STATE: Due to violating hazing rules, Humboldt State will not be eligible to compete in CCAA tournament. All games played against HSU will not count in the CCAA standings.

SHUTOUT QUEEN: Senior Diana Zambrano (La Puente, Calif./Mt. SAC) dominated last weekend by having two shutout performances against Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State L.A. She tallied 10 saves in the 193 minutes.

NATIONAL RANKINGS:  In the latest NSCAA National Top 25 Poll, three teams continue to represent the CCAA.  UC San Diego moves up four into the No. 5 spot after remaining undefeated. Last weekend, Cal State Stanislaus and Sonoma State battled it out, but with the Warriors dominant performance and 4-1 win over the Seawolves the Warriors reached new height, from No. 21 to No. 10. Sonoma State dropped from No. 2 to No. 20.

CCAA STANDINGS:  The Otters are third in the CCAA North Division standings with a 3-2 record.  They sit behind two nationally ranked teams; No. 10 Cal State Stanislaus and No. 20 Sonoma State.

YET ANOTHER OTTER HONOR: Senior Korie Soares scored the lone goal in the 1-0 victory at Cal State Dominguez Hills, beginning a weekend in which the Otters won both of their road games. Soares is this week's ESPN 630 KIDD Student-Athlete of the Week honors. The midfielder is the third Otter women's soccer player to earn this honor (Andrea Davis, Aug. 27-Sept. 2; Kristen Womack, Sept. 10-16).
