SEASIDE, Calif. -- After picking up its first conference victory of the season at Humboldt State last weekend, the Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team will look for its first home victory this weekend when it hosts a pair of CCAA contests.
Sophomore striker
Natalie Argueta (Costa Mesa HS) scored her first goal of the season to give the Otters a lead at Humboldt State Friday before sophomore goalkeeper
Kendra Gillio (San Jose/Valley Christian HS) saved a penalty to make that stand up in the 1–0 win. But Sonoma State overcame a quick Otter start to post a 3–0 win Sunday.
“We did what we needed to do to win Friday and the team is looking to bounce back from the loss Sunday,” says Head Coach
Erin Reinke. “We will work hard this week to prepare for Chico State and Stanislaus. Nothing changes in our preparation.”
The Otters will have their work cut out as their nemesi make their annual visits to Seaside. CSUMB has never beaten Chico (0–11 all–time) and has just a 2006 victory to show against Stanislaus (1–10 all–time).

THIRD TIME'S A CHARM: The Otters will be looking for their third and fourth wins of the season with matches six and seven on the docket this weekend. Prior to this season, the earliest they've ever claimed their third victory was the 11th match of the 2007 season.
For the record, the earliest win No. 4 has come was match 13 of 2007.
SPREADING THE WEALTH: Junior forward
Marlina Massagli (Alta Loma/Los Osos HS) enjoyed the first two–goal match of her career in the win over William Jessup. Past that, the Otters have spread the scoring wealth with five players sharing the team's six markers this.
Natalie Argueta was the latest to join the club with her match–winner at Humboldt State.
