SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team fell, 3-1, at Cal State San Bernardino in the series finale on Saturday at Fiscalini Field. The Otters drop to 17-23 and 14-17 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play, while the Coyotes improve to 20-18, 17-13 in conference action.
Sophomore #Tommy George# led the Otters with two hits.
Junior #Paul Brock# got the earned the start on the mound, throwing seven innings and struck out two batters in the loss. Sanford picked up the win, moving to 6-1 on the year.
The Coyotes tallied one run in the bottom of the first to take a 1-0 advantage. David Silvas doubled and scored on back-to-back singles.
In the fourth, the Otters tied the game when George doubled to center field and advanced to third on sophomore #Tony Hernandez#'s single. A mishandling of the ball by Silvas had George scrambling for home.
The Coyotes reclaimed the lead in the fifth by pushing two runs across the plate on two hits.
