The Gators scored two runs in the second on bases loaded walk and hit-by-pitch.

In the bottom of the second, junior #Jared DeCastro# stayed hot as he continued his series hitting streak with a single down the left field line to get the Otters off to a nice start. DeCastro then advanced to second, with the crack of junior designated hitter #Randall Packard#'s bat. Sophomore right fielder #Tommy George# singled up the middle and DeCastro made his way home to score for CSUMB.

SF State extended its lead with a run in the third and fourth innings.

CSUMB knotted the game at four in the bottom of the foutth inning. Starting the Otters off, once again, DeCastro beat out the throw from third for his second hit of the game. Packard stroked a long single to right center to advance DeCastro to third. George reached on an error by the shortstop, allowing DeCastro to cut the Gators lead to two runs. With runners on first and second, junior #Chiris Lopiccolo# battled through his count and drew the walk. Sophomore #Ronnie Fhurong# singled up the middle to score two runs, but Lopiccolo was thrown out at third on the play.
The Gators broke the tie in their next at bat with two runs and kept knocking, with the sixth inning being the most detrimental for the Otters. Combining two hit-by-pitches, two Otter errors and two singles, the Gators managed to acquire four runs to pull ahead 10-4.
