BOX SCORE

HAYWARD, Calif. — Despite generating chances, the Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team continued its goal–scoring struggles Sunday, falling to Cal State East Bay 3–0 at Pioneer Stadium.

CSUMB (2–9–0, 1–9–0 CCAA) reached double figures in shots for the second consecutive game, taking 10 Sunday, but couldn't find the back of the net for the seventh consecutive outing. East Bay (4–7–1, 3–6–1) took just five more shots
than the Otters, but three of those found their way home.

The teams played even past the half hour mark until East Bay's Jayme Zahn put one just under the cross bar from just outside the box. Breanna Baker added an insurance goal six minutes into the second half before Michelle Quintero capped the scoring in the 73rd minute.

CSUMB will try to get back on track next weekend by hosting a pair of CCAA North Division foes. Sonoma State visits the Otter Sports Complex Friday (Oct. 14) before Humboldt State comes calling Sunday (Oct. 16).
