TURLOCK, Calif. – For the second straight night, the Cal State Monterey Bay women's volleyball squad went five-sets in CCAA action. The Otters dropped a 3-2 decision to Cal State Stanislaus, 18-25, 23-25, 26-24, 25-21, 15-8.

Rheann Fall (Elk Grove/St. Francis HS) had her best match so far this season, registering her eighth double-double with 28 kills and 15 digs. After a slow start, senior middle blocker

Tiffaney Riggs (Vancouver, Wash./Heritage) racked up seven blocks including two solos.
The Otters came out and took a 5-1 lead before the Warriors could even blink. After a timeout, Stanislaus battled back to take its first lead of the game at 12-11 on Jessica Lehner's kills. A 6-1 run put CSUMB back on top, capped by
Monique Sena's tip to make it 16-13. The Otters cruised to a 25-18 opening set win. Fall registered a set-high five kills and four digs.
CSUMB took the second set 25-23. The Otters rallied back from being down 8-3 to even out the score at 13-13 on back-to-back kills by Riggs and Fall. After moving past the 15 point mark, CSUMB held the lead until the end. Senior
Dionna Lucas (Redlands/Arrowhead Christian Academy) racked up seven digs.
For the seventh time this season, the Otters went past the 25-point mark in the set as the Warriors pushed past a sweep with a 26-24 win. Fall posted six kills while Lashbrook added five.
The Warriors forced a fifth set after taking a 25-21 win in the fourth. Fall nabbed a career-best nine kills.
CSUMB got in a 4-0 hole in the fifth and was never able to recover, falling 15-8.
Three Warriors recorded double-digits in kills with Lianne Vicchio leading the way with 23 kills on top of her 21 digs.
The Otters (5-7, 2-7 CCAA) return to the Kelp Bed on Friday, Oct. 7 to host No. 12 UC San Diego at 7 p.m.
