Otters Cruise Past Cal State Dominguez Hills, 67-33

SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team recorded its 12th victory of the season with a 67-33 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday night at the Kelp Bed.

The Otters improve are 8-0 against California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) opponents, while the Toros drop to  1-11, 1-7 in conference play.

Junior #Amanda Padilla# led the team with 10 points and two assists along with senior #Michelle Santizo# with nine points and two rebounds. Senior #Julie Heuring# came out with two blocked shots and junior #Shonetta Crain-Williams# had a team high six rebounds for the Otters.

The Otters opened the game with a 3-pointer by Santizo and never let up, holding the lead throughout the contest.

CSUMB took a 34-16 advantage at the half.

The Otters never allowed the Toros back into the game by dominating on the board in the second half, 23-6.

CSUMB had 12 different players score with a total of 40 points coming from off the bench.

The Otter defense held CSUDH's to a 20.5 field percentage (8-for-39) and 11.1 3-point field percentage (1-for-9).  CSUMB had a 37-19 rebound advantage.

CSUMB takes to the road next weekend, traveling to Humboldt State on Thursday, Jan. 13 for a 5:30 tip-off.
