SEASIDE, Calif. - The Cal State Monterey Bay men's soccer team saw their 1-0 first half lead disappear, falling to the Chico State Wildcats 2-1 in overtime in the conference opener on Friday afternoon.
Just forty seconds after kickoff, sophomore #Max Brixey# crossed the ball to #Grant Robson# on a breakaway and launched the ball past the keeper to the far right post. The Otters held the lead to the halftime break.
After a CSUMB foul just outside the top of the penalty box, Chico State's Ferid Celosmanovic tied the game 1-1 on a free kick in the 51st minute.
In the second minute of overtime, Chico State's Luis Martinez scored on a rebound shot.
The Otters host Cal State Stanislaus on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m.
