LA JOLLA, Calif. - The Cal State Monterey Bay women's volleyball team dropped its fourth straight match, falling to the UC San Diego Tritons on Saturday night, 25-15, 25-14 and 25-17.
The Otters (12-6, 9-6 CCAA) are now in a three-way tie for third in the California Collegiate Athletic Asosciation (CCAA) standings. The CCAA is considered one of the toughest conferences in the nation in women's volleyball.
Junior #Rheann Fall# had a team-high 11 kills on top of her eight digs and two block assists. Sophomore #Tori Taijeron# recorded 10 digs and classmate #Monique Sena# dished out 12 digs.
The first set consisted of five lead changes and eight tied scores before the Tritons racked off eight stright points to take a 18-10 lead.
The Tritons had three players in double-digits with Roxanne Brunsting leading the way with 11 kills.
The Otters conclude their road trip schedule next weekend, traveling to Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday, Oct. 29 and Cal State L.A. on Saturday, Oct 30. Both games begin at 7 p.m.
