HAYWARD, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's volleyball team dropped three straight sets (25-17, 25-16, 25-19) to the No. 23 Cal State East Bay Pioneers on Friday night.
The Otters fall to 12-5 overall and 9-5 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play while the Pioneers improve to 15-4, 10-4 in conference action.
Junior #Melanie Lashbrook# led the Otters with six kills and classmate #Lauren Shacklock# added five kills.
CSUEB jumped out in front of both the first and second set and never looked back. The Otters rebounded in the third set, taking a lead as large as 14-11. The Pioneers rallied back to tie the game at 17-17 and went on a 8-2 run to clinch the match victory.
The Pioneers finished with a .250 attack percentage while the Otters hit .067.
The Otters will look to end their three-game losing streak on Saturday night, taking on UC San Diego in La Jolla. First serve is at 7 p.m.
