SAN FRANCISCO
– After falling in the first set against Chaminade University, the Cal State Monterey Bay women's volleyball team rallied, sweeping the final three sets in a four-set victory over the Silverswords by scores of 25-27, 25-20, 25-16, 25-18.

"I think it's a great day for Otter Volleyball," said head coach #Jody Garry#. "The hard work is beginning to pay off for we played smarter volleyball today and pushed through challenges together.

Senior #Elizabeth Hanna# notched a career-high .750 attack percentage, recording 21 kills on 28 attempts with no errors.  Sophomore #Rheann Fall# was one dig shy of a double-double, finishing with 20 kills and nine digs. Sophomore #Dionna Luca# and senior #Katie Bos# dug up 12 and 11 balls respectively.

"Hanna had a fantastic day and continues to set a great example," Garry said. "Her hard work and commitment to this program is paying off."

CSUMB (3-2) begins Day 2 of the California Clash Volleyball Tournament at 11:30 a.m. with a match-up against Dominican University.  The Penguins are currently 0-2 in tournament with losses to Humboldt State (five sets) and San Francisco State (three sets).
