LOS ANGELES – The Cal State Monterey Bay Otters were swept in their first conference road match of the 2009 season, falling to the Eagles of Cal State L.A. 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-13).
“It was disappointing to not play our best volleyball,” said head coach #Jody Garry#. “However, I believe in this team and more important than this match is how we respond in our next one.”
Sophomore #Rheann Fall# led the Otters with six kills while senior #Katie Bos# registered a team-high five digs. Junior #Dana Grimm# dished out nine assists.
The Eagles were led by Zuzana Cizova with 16 kills.
“We have the makings of a great team and statistically have been able to make real strides,” Garry said. “Coming into this match, we led the conference in digs and aces while placing in the top 5 in several categories.
“We need to bring out best on the court like what we bring in practice. “
The Otters travel to Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday, Sept. 26 for a 7 p.m. match.
