Fall Sports Game Notes No. 5



UP NEXT: CSUMB hits the road for back-to-back weekend trips, opening up against Cal State L.A. on Friday, Sept. 25.  The Otters than take on Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday, Sept. 26.

LOOKING AHEAD: CSUMB continues it four-match road trip, heading south to UC San Diego on Thursday, Oct. 1, before finishing up at Cal State East Bay on Saturday, Oct. 3.

PAST WEEKEND: CSUMB competed in three matches in five days, dropping the first two in five-sets to San Francisco State (9/15) and Humboldt State (9/18).  The Otters fell to No. 13 Sonoma State on Saturday, Sept. 19 in four sets.

NATIONALLY RANKED: As a team, the Otters are ranked in the top 100 in four categories: Digs per set (16.82), Assists per set (11.7), Kills per set (12.5) and Aces per set (1.94). Sophomore #Rheann Fall# is ranked 11th in the nation in kills per set, averaging 4.17 after 50 sets.

RANKING UP AGAINST THE CCAA:  The Otters continue to lead the conference in aces (2.64) and digs (18.09) per set. #Rheann Fall# is on top with 17 aces and averaging .77 a set.

CHASING 1,000: #Katie Bos# reached her 1,000 career digs milestone on Saturday, Sept 12 against Chico State.  The senior is ranked second in the CSUMB record books for digs behind Brittany Etchings (1,304 from 2004-07).

THE EAGLES: Cal State L.A. leads the series 8-2 with two sweeps last year over the Otters.

THE TOROS: With the series tied at five games apiece, the Otters defeated Cal State Dominguez Hills in three sets on Oct. 4 at the Kelp Bed.
