SEATTLE
– The Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketball team fell to Western Washington, 72-58, in the opening game of the Sodexo Tip-Off Classic on Seattle Pacific University's campus on Friday afternoon.

"We started off well and then a few calls didn't go our way and we were unable to respond," said head coach #Rob Bishop". "They did a good job getting offensive rebounds against us and extending plays."

Senior guard #Keith Wilson# led the Otters with 20 points while freshman guard #Brandon Ward# added 10 points. Junior forwards #Ian Hosford# and #Warren Freeman# each recorded eight points and six rebounds.

After shooting just 21.6 percent from the field in the opening half, the Otters rebounded with a 44.4 percentage in the second half while holding WWU to only 27.6 percent.

"I give a lot of credit to my guys for we battled back in the second and played a much better half," Bishop said. "The hole was just too big.

"Now we have to get ready to take on the host team tomorrow night."

The Vikings were led by Zach Bruce with 14 points while Derrick Webb and Andrew Ready each added 12 points.

CSUMB takes on host Seattle Pacific at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21.
