UP NEXT: The CSUMB volleyball squad finishes its 2009 season on the road, taking on Cal Poly Pomona on Friday, Nov. 13 followed by a match-up against No. 3 Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday, Nov. 14.
PAST WEEKEND: The Otters won back-to-back five-set victories, first at Notre Dame de Namur on Tuesday, Nov. 3. On Friday, CSUMB won its first five-set victory at home with a win over Cal State East Bay. The Otters than were swept by No. 2 UC San Diego on Saturday, Nov. 7.
RANKING UP AGAINST THE CCAA: The Otters are drop to third in the conference in aces (1.83) per set. #Rheann Fall# continues to lead the CCAA with 37 aces by averaging .46 a set and is 10th in kills per set with 3.28. #Tiffaney Riggs# is ranked fourth in in blocks, averaging .91 per set.
ANOTHER BOS RECORD: After passing the 1,000 dig milestone earlier this year, senior #Katie Bos# became CSUMB's All-Time Dig Leader on Tuesday, Nov. 3 in the 3-2 victory over Notre Dame de Namur. With two matches remaining, Bos has racked up 1,348 digs in her four-years at CSUMB.
THE BRONCOS: Cal Poly Pomona (11-16, 8-12 CCAA) is in the middle of the CCAA standings in the seventh place spot. In the last meeting, the Broncos came out on top in a five-set match (17-25, 25-12, 22-25, 25-22, 16-14) at the Kelp Bed on Oct. 10.
THE COYOTES: The No. 2 Cal State San Bernardino squad (26-1, 19-1 CCAA) now holds the first place spot in the CCAA standings after UC San Diego fell to SF State last Friday. Junior outside hitter Jane Chafeh is ranked fourth in the nation in kills per set (4.68)
