Fall Game Notes No. 10

UP NEXT: The Otters returns home for its final four home games, opening with Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday, Oct. 30, followed by a match-up against No. 21 Cal State L.A. on Saturday, Oct. 31.

GAMEDAY PROMOTIONS: Friday's match against Cal State Dominguez Hills has been tabbed as “Dig for a Cure” night.  CSUMB will be accepting donations for admission in to the game with all proceeds being donated to the Breast Cancer Assistance Group of the Monterey Peninsula.

PAST WEEKEND: On Friday, Oct. 23, CSUMB were swept by No. 19 Sonoma State (25-21, 25-15, 27-25).  The Otters rebounded the next night with a four-set victory over the Lumberjacks of Humboldt State, 25-21, 25-13, 20-25, 25-18.

NATIONALLY RANKED: The Otters are in the top 100 in the country in two categories; 68th in Aces per set (1.74) and 71st in Digs per set (15.82).

RANKING UP AGAINST THE CCAA:  The Otters are now second in the conference in aces (1.93) and third in digs (15.8) per set. Rheann Fall leads the CCAA with 23 aces by averaging .53 a set and is 10th in kills per set 3.38.

THE TOROS: Cal State Dominguez Hills (1-22) are in last place in the CCAA standings with a 1-15 record in conference. On a 13-match losing streak, the Toros' only victory came on Sept 18 in a five-set win over Cal State East Bay.  The Otters swept CSUDH in three sets, 25-17, 25-19, 25-18, on Sept. 26 in Carson.

THE EAGLES:
The No. 21 Cal State L.A. Eagles have a record of 16-7 overall and 12-4 in conference play, ranking third in the CCAA standings.   The Eagles fell 3-1 to No. 2 UC San Deigo on Oct. 23.
