CSUMB jumped out to an 8-4 lead capped by a Fall kill.  The Otters held the lead until SF Sate rallied back to tie it at 24 all.  Kills by senior #Alisha Thomas# and Fall propelled the Otters to a 26-24 first set victory.

Thomas kept CSUMB close to start the second set, putting down three kills for the Otters.  Two CSUMB attack errors and a kill by Beth Perkins gave SF State a 17-13 lead.  The Otters would close the gap to 18-15 on a Gator attack error but SF State would sail to a 25-20 win to tie the match at 1-1.

In the third set, the Gators took a quick 11-4 lead before the Otters rallied back to close the gap to 17-16.   A setter dump by Manzo tied the game at 17 and the Otters took their first lead on a SF State attacking error.  Two consecutive kills gave the lead back to the Gators but a service error tied it up once again.  Robyn Hall's back-to-back kills sparked a 5-2 run, giving SF State the set and a 2-1 match advantage.

CSUMB came out on fire in the fourth set, taking a 7-1 which included two kills by sophomore #Lauren Shacklock#.  The Gators slowly racked up points until a 5-0 spurt tied the game at 13-13. SF State took its first lead of the set on a kill by Kyle Lamet at 14-13.  The teams traded leads until the Gators rattled off five straight points for a 23-18 advantage. The Otters attempted a comeback with a block by Sudarsana and Hanna to close the gap to 23-21. The Gators recorded an attacking error to bring the game to within one point, but CSUMB missed its next serve to give SF State its first match point.  Fall's kill brought the game to 24-23, but Perkins answered with a kill of her own to give SF State the match.
