SEASIDE, Calif.
– The Cal State Monterey Bay men's soccer team forced No. 17 Chico State to double overtime before falling 2-1 at the Otter Soccer Complex this afternoon.  The Otters drop to 1-5-3 (1-3-2 CCAA) as the Wildcats improve to 8-1 (4-1 CCAA).

In the 52nd minute, Chico State scored on a cross from Evan Armstrong that went over the Otters defense and Benjamin Movkoko drilled into the open net.

Senior #Nick McGill# found the back of the net for his second goal of the season to tie the score 1-1 just shy of the 62nd minute. Sophomore #Grant Robson# smacked a low hard cross to the right side, past the Wildcat's goalkeeper Michael Keokane.  McGill slid in and tapped the ball across the goal line.

The Wildcats clinched the victory in the 104th minute when Evan Armstrong scored on a cross from Kevin Gibson.

Junior goalkeeper #Brenden Baca# registered five saves as the Otters were outshot 14-6.

CSUMB returns to the field on Friday, Oct. 3 when it travels south to Cal Poly Pomona.  The match is slated for a 7 p.m. start time.
