SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Motnerey Bay women's volleyball dropped a 3-0 decision (25-17, 25-20, 25-16) to to No. 18 UC San Diego tonight at the Kelp Bed. The Otters drop to 3-9 (0-4 CCAA) on the season as the Tritons improve to 7-2 (2-1 CCAA).
Junior outside hitter #Rayna Richardson# led the Otters with seven kills and a .300 clip. Freshman #Dionna Lucas# registered 12 digs and three aces.
The Otters came out with an aggressive start in set two, taking a 7-3 lead. CSUMB held that lead until UCSD went on a 14-3 run to clinch the second set, 25-20.
The Tritons were led by senior Rebecca Bailey with 14 kills and sophomore Cara Simonsen who notched three blocks.
The Otters host Notre Dame de Namur tomorrow night in a non-conference match-up. First serve is at 7 p.m.
