Final Results
SANTA ROSA, Calif. – The No. 20 Cal State Monterey Bay women's golf team finished in second place by posting a combined 56-over-par 640 (322-318) at the Sonoma State Women's Invitational to close out the fall season. Junior #Cicilia Chudivan# led the Otters with a 7-over par 153 (78-75) finish, just one stroke shy of first place.
Sonoma State's Chelsea Helget took top medalist honors, beating out teammate Brittany Carera and Chudivan.
Senior #Belinda Diamond# jumped from a tied 12th to finish tied for fifth after shooting a 76 in the final round. Diamond finished 11-over-par 157 (81-76). Senior #Tivi Latu# also moved herself up the standings to finish 15th with a 18-over-par 164 (83-81). Junior #Carly Doberenz# was the final Otter finisher, shooting a 33-over-par 179 (93-86) to tie at 28th.
“The team dug down deep today since we are missing our number two player, #Darcy Lake#, who was forced to withdrawal from the tournament due to injury,” said head coach
Teri Greene. “I am happy with the result for our last tournament of the season.”
Host Sonoma State (310-312-622) shot the low round again on Tuesday to hang on to its first-place standing. Grand Canyon (328-318-646) jumped from fifth into third place, moving Chico State (323-330-653) down to fourth. Sonoma State's “B” team (326-346-672) rounded out the top-five.
