Biography
2013 – CSUMB: An offseason injury will likely force Summer Esseff to redshirt in 2014…nearly doubled her playing time from her freshman campaign, appearing in 59 sets in 26 matches playing at both opposite and middle blocker…matched her career high with 13 kills at Humboldt State (Nov. 3).
2012 – CSUMB: Summer jumped right into the collegiate game in 2012, making six starts while appearing in 30 sets…hit .250 for the season, including a season–high .478 effort at Humboldt State (Nov. 3)…also knocked down a season–high 13 kills in that match…season–highs of seven block assists and eight total blocks came in a win over Academy of Art at the Route 92 Tournament (Sept. 8)…season–high two block solos came a day earlier vs. Cal Baptist (Sept. 7).
High School: Summer led the Lancers of Thousand Oaks High School to three Marmonte League championships, including undefeated league seasons in 2010 and 2011…selected co–MVP of the Marmonte League with high school and Otter teammate Rachel Cookus…Ventura County Hall of Fame Athlete for TOHS…All–CIF South Section Div. I…L.A. Daily News All–Area…also swam in high school…played club volleyball for LAVA under the direction of former U.S. Olympian Jeff Stork.
Personal: Summer is majoring in liberal studies at CSUMB…career goal is to teach children with special needs…was a scholar–athlete at TOHS…has worked as a lifeguard and a swim instructor…daughter of Kim Esseff.
