Biography
2012 – CSUMB: Sarah Rodriguez dipped her foot in the collegiate volleyball pool by playing in one match as a freshman…collect her first collegiate dig in that win over Holy Names (Sept. 8) at the Route 92 Tournament.
High School: Sarah played outside hitter for the Dons of Verdugo Hills High School…reached double figure kills seven times as a senior, including a season–high 15 in a win over North Hollywood (Oct. 24)…posted a season–high seven aces in a sweep of Sun Valley (Sept. 21)…season–high 34 digs came in a season–opening win over Cleveland High (Sept. 7)…named the East Valley League Player of the Year for 2011, leading the Dons to a 14–0 league record…first team All–EVL and L.A. Daily News All–Area in 2011…also competed in soccer and track & field at VHHS…EVL champ in the 100 hurdles and the high jump…played club ball with Elite VBC.
Personal: Sarah is majoring in marine science at CSUMB…career goal is to work on marine environmental issues and research…member of the VHHS Silver Honor Roll and winner of the Shirley Starr Cruikshank Memorial Scholarship…volunteer with the Shadow Hills Riding Center, using horseback riding as a therapeutic modality for people with disabilities…parents are Jim and Aggie Rodriguez.
