2014 – CSUMB: Just Malcolm could be primed for a big senior season after capping her junior campaign by earning AVCA NCAA Division II Player of the Week honors in the final week of 2014…set the Otter 3–set record with 22 kills in a sweep of Cal Poly Pomona (Nov. 14) and followed that with 20 kills vs. UC San Diego (Nov. 15) en route to the award…finished the season with a team–high 328 kills, good for No. 10 on the Otter single–season list…earned second team All–CCAA honors after reaching double figures in kills 16 times as a junior, including 8 of the final 10 matches…enters the 2015 season No. 4 on the CSUMB list with 1,117 career kills and needs 337 to catch Rhean Fall’s school record of 1,454…ranks No. 2 behind Fall in career kills per set (3.36)…posted seven double–doubles as a junior.

2013 – CSUMB: Jessica Malcolm one of the best statistical seasons by an outside hitter in CSUMB history as a sophomore, etching her name in the Otter record book several times along the way…set the CSUMB record with 555.5 points in 2013…finished the season with 494 kills, good for the No. 3 spot in the CCAA…her 494 kills smashed the pre–2013 Otter record by 68…reached double figures in kills in 26 of 30 matches, including an Otter 4–set record of 27 in a win at Notre Dame de Namur (Sept. 13)…set a career high with 29 kills (No. 4 on the CSUMB list) against UC San Diego (Nov. 15)…posted double figures in 12 consecutive matches from Sept. 6 through Oct. 1…had 20 double–doubles in 2013, including a career–best six consecutive matches from Sept. 6–14…set a career–high with 22 digs vs. Cal State Stanislaus (Sept. 21)…best all–around performance included 24 kills, 21 digs and four blocks in a 5–set win at Humboldt State (Nov. 2).

2012 – CSUMB: Jessica stepped right into the starting lineup as a freshman and played in all 113 sets in 2012…finished second on the team with 295 kills…reached double–figure kills 16 times, including a season–high 16 in a four–setter at Chico State (Nov. 10)…enjoyed a season–best streak of five consecutive double–figure kill matches from Sept. 28–Oct. 6…recorded a season–high five block assists (and five total blocks) against Maryville (Sept. 1) and at Cal State Stanislaus (Nov. 9)…recorded double–figure digs four times, including a season–high 18 at Humboldt State (Nov. 3)…recorded a pair of double–doubles with both coming against Humboldt State (14 kills and 13 digs on Sept. 28 and 11 kills and 18 digs on Nov. 3).

High School: Jessica played three seasons of varsity ball at Lodi High School…helped the Flames win the San Joaquin Athletic Association Championship in 2009…2011 SJAA MVP…team captain as a senior…2010 SJAA Hitter of the Year…named all–area by the Stockton Record in 2009 and 2010…played club ball with Delta Valley VBC (2008–09) and NorCal Select (2010–11).

Personal: Jessica is majoring in kinesiology at CSUMB…career goal is to work in physical therapy…earned the Academic Achievement Award from the D2 Athletic Director’s Association and was a CCAA Scholar–Athlete Award winner as a junior…was a three–time scholar–athlete in high school…daughter of Sam and Angela Malcolm.
