2013 – CSUMB: Janai Johnson redshirted for the Otters in 2013.

2012 – CSUMB: Janai didn’t jump instantaneously from high school into the starting lineup, but it almost worked that way…after hitting a season–high .571 (8–0–14) in her first collegiate start vs. Holy Names (Sept. 8), she went on to start the final 24 matches of the season…led the team with a .262 attack pct. While hitting .400 or better five times (min. 10 TA)…reached double figures in kills eight time with her season–high of 16 coming at Cal State Stanislaus (Nov. 9)…her 84 total blocks led the team and rank No. 3 on the CSUMB single season list while her 23 solo blocks rank No. 2 on that season list and No. 10 on the career list…match highs were four solos vs. Cal State Stanislaus (Oct. 6), six assists at Cal State Stanislaus (Nov. 9) and eight total blocks vs. Chico State (Oct. 5).

High School: Three–year starter…led the Pride to three Sac–Joaquin Section Division V runner–up finishes…two–time All–Sierra Delta League first team selection…competed in the Optimist All–Star game…helped lead Bradshaw Christian to CIF section titles as a post player in 2009 and 2011…played club with the Delta Valley VBC.

 Personal: Janai is majoring kinesiology…has done volunteer work with the St. John's Shelter…daughter of Citrea Vincent.
